Director of Family Ministries (Part-Time)

Position Summary

Lynn Haven Baptist Church is seeking a part-time Director of Family Ministries to lead and nurture the spiritual growth of children/youth from birth through college. This role prioritizes spiritual development over numerical growth by creating a Christ-centered environment where children/youth can grow in their faith, engage in meaningful relationships, and experience the love of Jesus. The director will also be responsible for recruiting, training, and equipping volunteers while serving as the face of the Children’s, Youth and Young Adult Ministries within the church and in the community.

Responsibilities

Spiritual Leadership & Program Development

Provide vision and direction for the Children’s, Youth and Young Adult Ministries that aligns with the

overall mission of the church.

Develop and implement biblically-based curriculum that engages children/youth and

fosters a deep relationship with Christ.

Plan and oversee weekly children’s, youth and young adult programs, including Sunday School, Children’s Church,

and weekly programming/activities and outings.

Organize special events such as Vacation Bible School, seasonal celebrations, and outreach programs.

Encourage and equip parents to disciple their children/youth at home through

resources, support and training.

Volunteer Recruitment & Development

Recruit, train, and mentor volunteers, ensuring a strong, committed team to serve in Children’s,

Youth and Young Adult Ministries.

Provide ongoing training and encouragement to volunteers to enhance their effectiveness and spiritual growth.

Ensure all volunteers comply with child safety policies and background check requirements.

Church & Community Engagement

Serve as the primary representative of the Children’s, Youth and Young Adult Ministries to church leadership,

parents, and the congregation.

Build relationships with families, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all children/youth.

Partner with the church and local community to reach and minister to children, youth and young adults 

beyond the church walls.

Qualifications

growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a strong commitment to biblical truth.

Experience in children’s, youth and/or young adult ministry leadership, teaching, or a related field (volunteer or paid).

A passion for helping children/youth grow in faith through engaging, Christ-centered experiences.

Ability to recruit, train, and lead volunteers effectively.

Strong organizational and communication skills with a heart for connecting with families.

Must pass a background check and adhere to child safety policies.

Position Details

Part-Time: 20-25 hours per week (varies based on ministry needs).

Compensation: Pay is negotiable based on experience.

Reports to: Senior Pastor or designated church leadership.
